Health
Immunizations
- State law and the Macomb County Immunization Regulations require that
any child entering school in Michigan for the first time must have the
appropriate immunizations. Forms are available in the school office or
the Health Department.
Injury/Illness
- Should a child be injured seriously or become ill at school, the
office would attempt to notify the parents at home or work. If
unsuccessful, we would then contact the names listed on your family
emergency form.
Medicine
- As a matter of policy, medication - including aspirin - is not
administered at school. If it is necessary for a child to take
medication, a required form granting permission must be signed and
submitted to the office by the parents, doctor's instructions must be
included with prescriptions, and all such medications must be
administered by the office staff.
Communicable
Disease - Parents should inform the school office as soon as it is
determined that a child is suffering from a communicable disease.
Some common communicable diseases and the minimum required
exclusion from school are:
Measles
(Hard) - 5th day after onset of rash
Measles (German) - 4th day after onset of rash
Mumps - swelling has subsided
Whooping Cough - 3 weeks from onset
