Mathematics

The new Exploring Mathematics, published by Scott Foresman, is used in Grades 1-7. This series prepares students for a competitive world where math plays an increasingly important role by emphasizing problem-solving strategies, active learning, practice and review, built-in use of manipulatives, while providing a strong support system for teachers.

Pre-Algebra, published by Heath, is used in Grades 7 and 8. Algebra - Structure and Method, published by Houghton Mifflin, is used in Grade 8. These texts include sections on whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percent while also learning basic algebraic skills. Students will also be introduced to operations with integers, solving equations and inequalities, and working with polynomials.
