PLEASE CALL US...
Whenever your child is absent or late, you are requested to call the school office (586-264-2911) before 9:45 a.m. If we don't hear from you, we attempt to make contact to verify the absence. This can be very time consuming and less accurate than if you take the initiative and call us. Messages sent through brothers and sisters or neighbors, too often result in confusion. If there will be a continuing absence and you have not so informed us on the first day, please call us again each day. Everyone's interest is to best ensure the where-a-bouts and safety of the children.

BAD WEATHER REMINDERS:
If weather/road conditions should ever necessitate the cancellation of school, radio and TV announcements would be made for "all Warren Consolidated Schools or St. Anne Roman Catholic Grade School."

It is possible, although extremely unusual, that developing weather conditions might cause the transportation department to decide to begin the dismissal process earlier than normal on a particular day. Since we would not be able to contact each family, it is important that your child know what to do if they would arrive home a bit early.

Dear Parents,
We are asking for your thoughtful consideration regarding our large numbers being served lunch. Many, many children have items requiring microwave heating. While we have several microwaves, our electrical capacity becomes overtaxed and we are not able to "nuke" meals that require several minutes to cook. The lines become very long and the children have less time to eat. Also, we cannot warm up dixie cup ice cream or cookies, etc.

Other items of concern should be noted. Popcorn may not be eaten in the cafeteria, whether in microwave bags or baggies. It is greasy, slippery and much of it ends up on the floor. Children may not trade in their lunch tickets for cash or exchange a main item ticket for a few "treat" tickets. Borrowing money for lunch from the office may happen “once in a great while". However, when it becomes a habit, large amounts owed accumulate in a very short time. It is time-consuming to collect and also does not teach responsibility. All lunch boxes or bags should be labeled with your child's name.

Please help us with these concerns and we will do our best to provide a happy, safe environment for your child's lunchtime.
